We partnered with Auntie Anne’s to conduct a state-by-state poll of 5,000 Americans.
Building on the success of the pretzel chain’s social media activity around the pronunciation of their brand name, Auntie Anne’s commissioned research to see if they could settle the debate.
The burning question? Do you say “ANT-EE Anne’s” or “AHN-TEE Anne’s.”
The pretzel chain’s lighthearted campaign was timed to coincide with National Auntie Day on July 26th.
The results?
More than half of Americans say “Auntie” as AHN-TEE. However, the data also revealed that even those who call their aunts AHN-TEE still refer to the brand as ANT-EE Anne’s. The online survey also asked respondents additional questions about pretzel preferences, providing the Auntie Anne’s team with actionable insights from a large sample of American consumers.
As well as sharing the research and heat map graphic to keep the conversation going on social media, the Auntie Anne’s team also released the findings to media outlets, garnering more coverage and exposure for the brand.
