Talker Research partnered with LELO to develop a comprehensive trend report and media-ready news story. Conducting a poll of 2,000 U.S. adults who are in a relationship, our research was designed to explore how couples are nurturing intimacy in the context of modern pressures, from demanding work schedules to digital distractions.
We examined both in-bedroom behaviors and everyday relationship habits to uncover how often couples are intimate and what factors meaningfully contribute to satisfaction, connection and long-term spark.
By polling adults across multiple age groups, we were able to identify how Gen Z, millennials, Gen X and baby boomers differ in their approaches to communication, experimentation and technology. We analyzed correlations between behaviors such as date nights and texting frequency with sexual frequency and satisfaction levels, revealing clear patterns that extend beyond physical intimacy. The survey also explored barriers to intimacy including fatigue, work stress and parenting demands, offering a well-rounded view of the competing priorities couples navigate daily.
This approach made the research compelling from a storytelling standpoint. The broader trend report provided rich, behavioral insights for the brand, while the news story spotlighted headline-worthy findings. By grounding the narrative in credible data and tying intimacy to modern lifestyle shifts, the project positioned LELO as a brand attuned to the evolving realities of contemporary relationships.
